The 3R's Rock 'n' Roll is a 50's style Jive club based near Reading in the Thames Valley, junction 11 off the M4.
The club was started in 1991 by 10 people who had no where to jive, so they hired a church hall, took a record player along, enjoyed the evening and the 3R's club was born.
Four of the original people still run the club, all for their love of Rock'n'Roll as none of them get paid. All money raised is put back into the club. The club has had over 300 members each year for the last 10 years, so the committee feel they must be doing something right as the club is going from strength to strength.
Most rock'n'roll folk have heard of 'Jive Jive Jive', an all-dayer run by the club at Rivermead Leisure Complex in Reading at the end of May every year for the last 10 years. This was originally taken over by Hembsy organiser, Willie Jefferey but has now been taken over by Kav Kavanaugh & Suzy Q.
The club has two main DJs, that old man of Rock 'n' Roll, Wildcat Pete and a founder member of the 3R's Mick the Mike with other DJs guesting on group nights. The 3R's Club aim is to keep Rock 'n' Roll alive for another 50 years.
